An important part of the 18-month culinary arts associate degree program is the 8-week externship, during which culinary students get to test out their culinary prowess and experience the day-to-day operations of kitchens. Students also make valuable culinary industry contacts, which can be important for future job opportunities.
Culinary arts students could complete their externships for:
•Fine dining restaurants
•Food service companies
•Hospitality and travel companies, such as resorts or casinos
Your chef instructors and the career services department will be able to help you identify different externship options available that suit your strengths and interests. Many of our students have been hired after graduation by their externship site!
